"God Save Me From Dr. Vedant" 😭

The room stayed silent even after Dr.

Vedant Singh Rathore finished speaking.

No one moved.

No one dared to move.

The tension inside the room was enough to make anyone nervous.

Vamika awkwardly glanced at the intern sitting beside her before slowly pulling her chair back.

Unfortunately-

SCREEECHHH.

The horrible sound echoed through the entire room.

Every single head turned toward her.

Wonderful.

Vamika slowly closed her eyes.

"God... just kill me already."

A few interns immediately lowered their heads, trying their best not to laugh.

Meanwhile, Dr. Vedant Singh Rathore simply looked at her with the same unreadable expression on his face.

"You seem to enjoy attracting attention, Dr. Singhania."

His calm voice somehow made everything ten times more embarrassing.

"I-it was an accident, sir," Vamika muttered weakly.

"Hmm."

That one hum carried judgment.

Pure judgment.

Vedant calmly looked away and continued discussing the patient schedules as if she hadn't just humiliated herself in front of the entire department for the second time today.

Meanwhile, Vamika sat there questioning every single life decision that had brought her to this hospital.

Maybe becoming a florist wasn't such a bad career option after all.

Ten painfully long minutes later, the briefing finally ended.

The second Vedant stepped away, all the interns relaxed like prisoners getting temporary freedom.

"Oh my God," one of them whispered dramatically, placing a hand on his chest.

"I thought he was going to yell at us."

"Seriously," another intern sighed. "Does that man ever smile?"

Before anyone could answer-

Vedant suddenly stopped walking.

The entire room froze again.

Without even turning around, he spoke calmly,

"Instead of discussing my personality, review the patient files I assigned."

Silence.

Absolute silence.

One intern almost choked on his own breath.

Vamika stared at Vedant's back with wide eyes.

"He has supernatural hearing,karela kahi ka" she whispered in horror.

And for the first time-

she could've sworn she saw the corner of Dr. Vedant Singh Rathore's lips twitch ever so slightly.

As I stepped out of the department, I saw my best friend, Aarav, standing right in front of me with two coffee cups in his hands. Honestly, we were less like best friends and more like siblings who fought every five minutes.

The moment I saw him, I snatched the coffee from his hand dramatically and took a long sip.

He raised an eyebrow.

"So... tell me, Dr. Vamika Singhania, how was your first day? And more importantly... how's your oh-so-famous senior?"

I instantly made the most offended face possible.

"Yaar, he's literally a bitter karela in human form! Do you even know he insulted me TWICE today?"

I looked at him with a fake crying face, expecting sympathy.

Big mistake.

That idiot started laughing. Loudly. Like genuinely struggling to breathe.

I glared at him murderously.

"Aarav, stop laughing right now or I swear I'll break your face."

But instead of stopping, he laughed even harder.

"Yaar, what even are you? On the VERY FIRST day of internship, you literally fell on the floor in front of your senior. When will you learn how to walk properly?"

I gasped dramatically while he continued torturing me.

"And I've heard Dr. Vedant treats his interns very strictly. Behennn... with your level of chaos, he's going to throw you out of the hospital in two days."

He burst into laughter again.

I immediately started hitting his back repeatedly.

"Get lost! I'm not talking to you anymore!"

"OWW- VAMIKA! THIS IS PHYSICAL ABUSE!" he shouted while trying to protect himself.

Ignoring him completely, I turned around and started walking away angrily.

But deep down, panic had already started creeping in.

"God... I seriously don't know how I'm going to survive this internship. Please protect your tiny, innocent child from that demon doctor," I muttered dramatically while looking up at the sky.

And somewhere inside the hospital...

Dr. Vedant Singh Rathore probably sneezed without knowing someone had just called him a demon.

Evening shift finally ended at the hospital. I was standing outside the gate, waiting for my best friend Divya. We've been best friends since high school, and then Aarav joined us in college. Somehow, all three of us even completed our degrees together, and the most unbelievable coincidence- we all ended up at the same hospital for our internship.

Divya came running towards me and pulled me into a tight hug.

"Hey my jaan... how was your first day?" she asked excitedly. "By the way, Aarav told me everything. I felt so bad for you!"

I made a face and looked at her. She was already laughing.

"Yrr tu bhi start mat ho ab," I said, slightly annoyed. "And you didn't even come to meet me today!"

She rolled her eyes. "Arre yrr, my department people didn't even let me breathe properly. I don't know in what cursed moment I chose Medicine. My luck is honestly ruined."

I scoffed. "Oh please. As if I had a choice- I chose Surgery like I had some option left in life."

We both looked at each other for a second... and then burst out laughing.

That's how we are-complaining about life but still surviving it together.

Talking and laughing like this, we finally reached our hostel. Same building, same chaos... and yes, Divya is also my roommate.

And honestly? After a day like today... I couldn't have asked for a better ending.

We reached our hostel still laughing... until Divya suddenly stopped mid-step and said,

"Wait... don't tell me we have a night duty too?"

My smile dropped instantly. "Please... don't jinx it."

Sooo... Vamika officially survived her first briefing 😭

But I don't think Dr. Vedant is surviving her chaos anytime soon.

Honestly, the second-hand embarrassment while writing this chapter was VERY real 💀
